About the Artist Guiseppe Biography

Giuseppe Botti photo

Guiseppe G. Botti was born in Mirandola, Italy in 1953. Botti worked as a pharmacist for over twenty years while living in Sassuolo. As a fiction writer, Botti penned the romance of Santa Flora towards the end of the 1950’s, a story which chronicles the life of an Italian missionary in Brazil during times of change.

Botti’s paintings have earned critical acclaim for years, both in the United States and in his native Italy. In 1999, the artist received special recognition for his exhibitions in Chicago and Miami. Ralph Creasman, dean of the School of Chicago, reveled in the emotion of Botti’s artwork, declaring the atmosphere Botti invokes in his paintings as comparable to that which was made famous by the masters of the Renaissance.

Botti was the first Italian artist to exhibit in New York after September 11th at the Agora Gallery of Broadway. Since then, the partnership between Botti and American art galleries has flourished and has stood the test of time.

The American Department of State took interest in the artist and by way of the General Consulate of Italy, contacted Botti and acquired a number of his works. Botti exhibited for the Second Renaissance in various Italian towns. Additionally, he showed these paintings for the International Association for Queen Elena in the Palazzo Communale of Modena, as well as in Montpellier.

In October of 2003, Botti obtained public approval and critical acclaim at the Club La Meridiana in Casinalbo. Professor and art critic Vittorio Sgarbi honored Botti by hosting this inauguration for the artist’s collection entitled “Tribute to Nature.”

In June of 2004, Botti exhibited his work at La Pigna Gallery in Rome’s Palazzo del Vicariato. The show concluded with the delivery of a painting to His Eminence Cardinal Camillo Ruini, Vicar of Rome and President of the Italian Episcopalian Conference.
